Welcome to my info page on a current project I’m doing on the idea of play in theme parks. My name is T.L. Taylor and I’m a sociologist who studies play and games (you can learn more about me and my work by checking out my bio and poking around this site as well). I’ve been a long time park attendee myself (mostly Disney) and became interested in what the experience of parks are when you attend them regularly.
I’m currently looking for people (18+ & U.S.) who are regular theme park attendees (annual park holders or park visitor at least 3 times a year) to chat with me a bit about their experiences.
If you have some time and fit the criteria, I’d love to talk with you either by phone or Skype/online. And if you’re in the Boston area, I’d be happy to buy you a cup of coffee while we chat if you like!
::Updates on interviews::
I had such tremendous response to the initial call for participants that the first round of interviews is now fully booked. I anticipate starting the next round in late March/early April. If you don’t mind waiting for me to circle back to you then, please do consider filling out the form below!
Also, at this time I’m no longer taking on fellow academics as interviewees, y’all were so generous — and clearly theme park fans in ways I never understood! — that I’ve hit saturation with your demographic for now.
If you’re interested in participating or would like to know more about the project, please fill out this form to kick off the process.
Please also feel free to share this page if you know someone who might be a good fit to talk to me. Thanks much!
